We are grateful that you want to know about us and our story. We are presently eight women and men who are participating in birthing a safe, artistic and creative community. We use our proceeds to develop activities that mentor, inspire and empower women in transition, affirming spiritual growth and hope. Our products convey such a blessing when given to another, creating meaning and depth whatever the occasion.
The Beginning…
Over eight years ago, in the post 9/11 world, artist Hannah Anderson decided she wanted to create and sell products to benefit at-risk youth in NYC. She founded The Blessing Cup as a registered non-profit company to foster an attitude of hope and healing and donate to agencies in various underserved urban groups. A website with products of cards and prints was the first experiment and our board made some modest grants, recognizing the need to find our uniqueness and purpose.
The Next Chapter…
The next chapter emerged after Hannah relocated to western Massachusetts five years ago. From the base of her new studio, a circle of women gathered to create ceramic blessing cups, excited that the name had the purpose. We could instill inspiration and empowerment through calling together folks who wanted to be a blessing for each other. We could pass on that message through the creating and selling of products made by loving hands. A person holding a blessing cup poured in personal meaning and then often thought of a friend or loved one to give it to as a gift.
