The Blessing Cup Project recently relocated our Studio to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Pittsfield, MA. To better introduce ourselves to the community there, we are offering Meditations with Clay during their Wednesday evening Lenten programs. If you are in the area, come join us from 5:30-6:00 pm for a simple dinner and then from 6:15-7:00 pm for a time of silence, spirituality, and creativity. Blessing Cups Around the World

Our Blessing Cups have traveled to many places in this beautiful world. Sometimes a single one is placed in a backpack or piece of luggage and makes the trip as a reminder to the carrier that she or he is not alone on the voyage. Other cups have traveled en mass with an individual to be given as gifts to family or friends as they spend special time together. Some cups just come along for the adventure to be given to an unsuspecting “Good Samaritan” with many thanks.

These cups made the trip with me this past summer on a rafting trip down the Hulahula River in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve with scientist studying climate changes. What a blessing these people are as they try to document the wonders of our world. It was an awesome trip.

Holding a Blessing Cup in my hand always makes me stop and to take time to contemplate. Its simple beauty and the earthiness of its clay, help me to think about the basics.

What am I thankful for? How am I abundantly blessed? Relationships that cheer me on when I am down or celebrate with me during times that call out for celebration. These same relationships that allow me to do the supporting and celebrating for them. A home and food to share with others. Work that is meaningful. The exquisiteness of the snowflakes dancing outside my window. My cat purring contently in my lap.

I am always amazed that a little cup sitting on my shelf can take me to such places of gratitude. I imagine the blessings cascading over the rim of the cup and flowing outward. Sometimes they are roaring over the edge, while at other times they gently trickle. But they are always there if I take the time to stop and observe.

Our signature product, the Blessing Cup™, is lovingly formed by hand with quality potters clay and carved with the Greek “key” design. Each is double fired by our crafters and enhanced with high quality glaze. Measuring approximately 1.25 inch high, Blessing Cups are made by women who gather weekly to support one another during times of transition or change. As they create each cup by hand, words of encouragement and blessing are offered around the circle of sharing. Blessing Bag

Our Blessing Bags™ are handmade from colorful batik fabric with batting fill. Hand sewn and ornamented with beads, buttons and frilly yarns, a blessing bag is designed to hold sacred objects, prayers or personal treasures. Each blessing bag is made by a woman going through a life transition or change. Women gather in a sewing circle to sharing their hopes and dreams with one another while creating these one-of-a-kind blessing bags.
This smaller bag measures approximately 4.5” by 5.5” (handle not included in the measurement)

Batik fabric patterns vary greatly. Choose a color scheme and let us choose a pattern for you.

Large Blessing Bag

The Large Beaded Blessing Bag measures approximately 7.5” by 7.5”. Handmade from batik fabric and adorned with a spiral of beads on the front, each bag is uniquely crafted by a woman in transition, creating with her hands as she creates a new future in her heart. The larger size Blessing Bag not only holds more sacred treasures but is often purchased as a gift for someone going through a special rite of passage: a birthday, a wedding, the birth of a child, for retirement or recovery from a major illness/surgery. Gather a group of friends who can fill the blessing bag with notes of gratitude, blessings and well wishes for someone special.

Note Cards & Bookmarks

Our founder, Hannah Anderson, painted watercolor images turning them into Note Cards and Bookmarks whose sales originally supported youth programs in New York City. These Note Cards and Bookmarks are now available through the Blessing Cup Project and support the ongoing efforts of our mission. Each Assortment includes one of each of the six cards shown (six envelopes included). Note Cards, measuring 5” by 7”, are printed on heavy card stock and are blank on the inside. A description of the art is printed on the back of each card.
